Using the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app

The Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app is full of great features. Use this page to learn about app compatibility and security, how to register your card in the app, how to log in to the app and more! 
You can use the app to pay for fuel, earn rewards and redeem for dollar savings.
Log in to your account at www.ExxonAndMobilRewardsPlus.com , click on to “Manage Points Circle” to invite other card members to your circle. Alternatively, you can call us at our Customer Service line at 1-888-739-2730 for further assistance.
Make sure the latest version of the app is installed on your device. If you are still experiencing an error after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, the station could be experiencing a configuration issue between your device and the Wi-Fi connection. The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app is available in the App Store for iOS 10 and above and on Google Play for phones running Android OS 6 and above. For optimal performance, we recommend using the latest OS available for your device. 
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app accepts all major credit cards, Exxon Mobil Personal Cards, Exxon Mobil Smart Card+, Exxon Mobil Direct Debit+ (ACH debit payment) and mobile wallet, including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Click to Pay.

At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app does not support Apple Watch use.

Exxon Mobil takes privacy very seriously, so your location will be used in accordance with our privacy policies. The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app obtains your location from your mobile phone through its geo-location feature. Please ensure this feature is turned on for the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. If your location-based services are turned on, the app will be able to identify which station you are at. If your location-based services are turned off, or there is interference, you will be directed to scan the QR code located on the pump.
The Station Survey may appear on the home screen after a transaction. This is an opportunity for you to provide feedback about your station experience. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

The Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app has the same security standards as required of banks, so your data is kept private and secure. The initial setup process also has built-in customer authentication steps to confirm the validity of the customer and payment method.

The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app is powered by Speedpass+ technology. Speedpass+ technology builds upon Exxon Mobil’s history of innovation at the pump, including the debut of the first pay-at-the-pump service in the 1980s, the launch of radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled touchless payment in the 1990s and the implementation of mobile payment options at pumps across its network in the 2000s. Speedpass+ is the namesake of Exxon and Mobil’s first fuel payment app and lives on as the infrastructure and communication method which supports mobile payment transactions in our Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app today, allowing users to safely and securely pay for gas, earn points and get rewarded.

Enable Face ID in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app as an additional way to make sure you’re the only one who can access your information.

Adding payment sources

Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Select "Account" from the lower right menu, then scroll to "Payment method," where you can add or edit a credit or debit card.
Fuel pumps require you to provide a payment method (credit card or debit card) before activating the pump. However, you will not be charged when buying fuel if your points cover the cost of your purchase. When using your credit or debit card, you may see a preauthorization hold based on your card’s bank or payment provider that would be removed based on their standard process.
If you have a digital wallet set up on your compatible devices, simply download the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and create an account. Your digital wallet information is automatically added to your account as a payment method. If you set up your digital wallet after downloading the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app, you would add the digital wallet information like you would any other payment method (by going to your Account and scrolling down to Add a Payment Method).
First, select “Pay now” and select your pump number. After selecting “Authorize Pump,” if your digital wallet is set as your default payment, you'll use Touch ID or Face ID to authorize payment. You do not have to tap your phone to the pump to make a purchase. If your digital wallet is not the default payment method, you can click on the existing payment method after authorizing the pump to open up the option to select your digital wallet of choice. 
At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app supports Visa, American Express, MasterCard and Discover when using a digital wallet as your payment method.
Your bank/device support centers (Apple, Google, Samsung, MasterCard) are ready to help you with any issue you may encounter when adding credit or debit cards to your device. Please contact your applicable support center for assistance.

Unfortunately, this feature is not available at this time.

Using your Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ in the app

No, if you use Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ as your payment method, you get instant price per gallon savings on fuel and a statement credit on in-store and car wash purchases instead of accumulating Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points. Transactions made with Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ do not contribute toward Exxon Mobil Rewards+ tiers like Premium status and Frequent Filler. If you would like to earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points, please use a different payment method with your qualifying Exxon Mobil Rewards+ purchase.
You can apply for Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ when you're at the pump or at home. During the application process, you will be directed to Citibank, the issuer of the card. Citibank uses one of the most secure encryption technologies available today. Once approved*, a digital credit card is automatically added to your mobile wallet so you can start paying with the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ in the app right away. *Based on Citibank's credit card application approval.

When you are directed to "Scan QR code," your phone's camera will open automatically in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app. Hold your phone two inches away from the pump and center the QR code (it looks like a pixilated square) on your screen. The app will scan the code once it’s in view and automatically select your pump number.
Once you have authorized the pump in the app, you can select your grade of fuel at the pump as you normally would, and then lift the nozzle to begin fueling.

No; you cannot purchase convenience store items through the app at this time. Instead, please swipe your loyalty card or enter your ALT ID or phone number at the register, then proceed to a different payment method. Select sites will be able to scan the barcode from your app, but you will still have to use a different payment method.

You will be able to see the offers on items in the convenience store for the Exxon™ or Mobil™ station you are fueling at based on your location. Your location services must be enabled for these to appear.
When you are authorizing the pump to pay for fuel, you can select a car wash, if it is available at that Exxon™ or Mobil™ station. The car wash code can be found on the receipt screen or in your payment history on the Account screen. The code expiration date will also appear on the digital receipt. You can redeem this car wash code at any time before the expiration date.

In "Account", you can select how you’d like to receive your receipt. You can choose to receive receipts through email or at the pump. Whichever option you choose, a history of your transactions is available in the “Payment history” section.

Pro Tip:

To make sure you receive receipts the way you like, be sure to set your receipt preferences in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app under “Communications.”

At the station, launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and select “Pay now” to begin the transaction. You will automatically earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on all fuel and car wash purchases made with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. After completing a transaction, your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points balance will be updated to reflect your most recent transaction. Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points will not be earned on purchases made with the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+™ credit card.
After creating an Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app account, you will be able to earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on your fuel and car wash purchases at participating locations.
At participating Exxon™ and Mobil™ stations, you can select the amount of available points to redeem before authorizing the pump in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app if you have at least 100 points for use on your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account.
Your Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ points balance will be updated in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app up to 48 hours after a transaction.
No; the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app does not use your phone number to log in or redeem points.
You can use the referral code when you are registering online for an Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ card at emrewards.com/register.
When you register for an Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account online or in the app, enter the referral code during registration. Your bonus points rewards will depend on the Terms & Conditions for that specific referral code promotion. You do not need a referral code for registration.
You can add a passcode to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app as an extra layer of security.

What-if-the-app-doesnt-recognize-my-location
Log in to your account at www.rewards.exxon.com , click on to “Manage Points Circle” to invite other card members to your circle. Alternatively, you can call us at our Customer Service line at 1-888-739-2730 for further assistance.

If you use the same email address for your app and online Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ accounts:

  1. Sign into your app.
  2. You should then be prompted to merge accounts.
  3. Enter your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website account password to merge accounts and log in. (If you do not remember your website password, you can reset it at https://exxonandmobilrewardsplus.com/welcome/forgot-password. Once reset, enter the new password in the app.)

If you currently use different email addresses for your app and online accounts:

  1. Sign into https://exxonandmobilrewardsplus.com.
  2. Select “My Account.”
  3. Select “Update” next to the “Account” section and update your email address to match the email address you use for your app account login information.
  4. Select “Change password” next to the “Password” section, and update your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website password to match your app account password.
  5. Log into the app with your login information, which should now match your online account.

If you share your rewards account number and phone number with another app user/member:.

  1. Sign into https://exxonandmobilrewardsplus.com.
  2. Select “My Account.”
  3. Select “Update” next to the “Account” section and update your phone number to a phone number that is different than the one you’ve been sharing with another member.
    (You will continue sharing your earned loyalty points with the shared account, but each app user must have a unique phone number and card number associated with their app account.)

If the applicable steps above do not work, please contact Customer Service at EMRewards@exxonmobil.com or 800-243-9966.

This means your account has been temporarily blocked for your protection. At this time, you will not be able to use points for savings. Please contact Customer Service at 800-243-9966 for assistance.

As we continue to streamline the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app, Version 5.0.0 and later no longer includes the Facebook Login function.

To keep your points and continue using the app, follow these steps:

  1. Open your app and select “Sign In.”
  2. Enter the email address you used with your Facebook login as your username.
  3. Select “Forgot Password?” and confirm your email address.
  4. Retrieve the temporary password sent to your email inbox. 
  5. Return to the app and select “Sign In.”
  6. Enter the temporary password and select “Sign In.”
  7. Create a new password for the app.
