How do I use the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
You can use the app to find pay for fuel, earn rewards and redeem for dollar savings, and find Exxon and Mobil stations nearest you.
 
How does the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app know my location?
ExxonMobil takes privacy very seriously, so your location will never be used without your permission. The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app obtains your location from your mobile phone through its geo-location feature. Please ensure this feature is turned on for the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. If your location based services are turned on, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app will be able to use it to identify which station you are at. If your location based services are turned off, or there is interference, you will be directed to scan the QR code on the pump.
 
What if the app doesn’t recognize my location?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app will direct you to scan the QR code on the pump and register it that way.
 
How do I scan the QR code?
When you are directed to "scan QR code," your phone's camera will open automatically in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Hold your phone two inches away from the pump, and center the QR code (looks like a pixilated square) on your screen. The app will scan the code once it’s in view.
 
How do I select my grade of fuel?
Select as you normally would at the pump.
 
Where is my receipt?
In "Account" under "Notifications," you can select how you’d like to receive your receipt. You can choose to receive receipts through email or at the pump. Whichever option you choose, a history of your transactions is available in the “Payment history” section.
 
Can I access the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app with my phone number like I can with the physical Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card or with Alt-ID?
No, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app does not use your phone number to login or redeem points.
 
What is the Station Survey?
The Station Survey will appear on the home screen after a transaction. This is an opportunity for you to provide feedback about your station experience. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
 
What types of phones support the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app is available in the App Store for iOS 10 and above and on Google Play for phones running Android OS 6 and above. For optimal performance, we recommend using the latest OS available for your device.
 

Why can’t I sign in with by Facebook login on Version 5.0.0 of the app? How can I sign into my app account now?

When Version 5.0.0 for the app launched, the ability to sign in with Facebook login credentials was removed from the app. In a few steps, you can keep your points and continue using the app:

  • Open your app and click Sign In.
  • Input the email address you use with Facebook login as your username.
  • Select Forgot Password? and confirm or edit your email address.
  • Retrieve the temporary password sent to your email inbox.
  • Return to the app and select Sign In.
  • Input the temporary password and select Sign In.
  • Create a new password for the app.

Are you having trouble merging accounts when logging into the app?

Please see the options below and the follow the solution addressing the issue that best aligns with your issue.

  1. Do you use the same email addresses for your app account and your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account?

    • Sign into the app using your app login information.
    • You will then be asked to merge accounts. Please enter the password for your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website account in the blank password field.
    • If you cannot remember this Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website password, you can reset it at http://EMrewards.com
    • After resetting, enter this new website password into the app to merge your app and website accounts to login in.
    • If this does not work, please contact Customer Service by Email: EMRewards@exxonmobil.com or Phone: 1-800-243-9966.

  2. Do you use different email addresses for your app account and your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account?

    • If yes, please sign into your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website account at http://EMrewards.com
    • Once you have signed in, select “My Account.”
    • Then, select “Update” next to the “Account” section.
    • Update your email address to match the email address you use for your app account login information.
    • Then, select “Change password” next to the “Password” section.
    • Then, update your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website password to match your app account password.
    • Then, log into the app using your app login information.
    • Then, enter the phone number or card number associated with your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ loyalty account.

Does your app give you a message saying “Information matches an existing account”?

Please see the options below and the follow the solution addressing the issue that best aligns with your issue.

  1. Do you share your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account with another app user? This includes the loyalty card number and phone number associated with your account.

    • If yes, then when you are logging in, please add a new phone number to your account different from the original phone number.
    • You will continue sharing your earned loyalty points with the shared account, but each app user must have a unique phone number and card number associated with their app account.
    • If this does not work, please contact Customer Service by Email: EMRewards@exxonmobil.com or Phone: 1-800-243-9966.

  2. Do you use different email addresses for your app account and your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account?

What forms of payment will the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app accept?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app accepts all major credit cards, debit cards, ExxonMobil Personal Cards, ExxonMobil Smart Cards, checking account, and mobile wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Masterpass.
 
How do I add my credit card or debit card to my Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account?
Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Select "Account" from the lower right menu, then swipe-up to "Payment method" where you can add or edit a credit or debit card.
 
How do I apply for an ExxonMobil Consumer Credit Card to link to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
You can now apply for an ExxonMobil Smart Card through the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app when you’re at the pump or at home. During the application process, you will be directed to Citibank, the issuer of the card. Citibank uses one of the most secure encryption technologies available today. Once approved* after a short wait, you can start paying with the ExxonMobil Smart Card in the app right away. Apply now and start saving on your next fill up!
 
Why do I have to leave the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app to apply for the ExxonMobil Smart Card?
Citibank is the issuer of the ExxonMobil Smart Card and the credit card application resides within Citi’s website. Citibank uses one of the most secure encryption technologies available today.
 
I had an issue while applying for the ExxonMobil Smart Card. Who do I contact?

Set-up and payment using Apple Pay

How do I add my Apple Pay information to my Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account?
If you have Apple Pay set up on your compatible devices, simply download the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and create an account. Your Apple Pay information is automatically added to your account as a payment method.
 
How do I pay for fuel using Apple Pay?
First, select “Pay now” and select your pump number. After selecting “Authorize Pump,” you'll use Touch ID® or Face ID® to authorize payment. You do not have to tap your phone to the pump to make a purchase.
 
What credit cards are supported by Apple Pay within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app supports Visa, American Express, MasterCard and Discover when using Apple Pay as your payment method.
 
What should I do if I need help adding a credit or debit card to Apple Pay?
Your bank and AppleCare are ready to help you with issues when adding credit or debit cards to your device. You can contact your bank or AppleCare, who will help you resolve your issue.
 
Does Apple Wallet show my recent transactions?
When you view your card in Apple Wallet, you’ll see the last transaction for each credit card or debit card. You might also see the last 10 transactions for your cards. Just tap the card and tap the i. Depending on your bank, you might see only transactions made from your device. Or you might see all transactions made from your credit or debit card amount, including all Apple Pay devices and your actual card.
 
Why is my transaction amount sometimes reported differently in Apple Wallet?
Some banks provide only initial authorization amounts to Wallet, which might be different from the final transaction amount. Depending on your bank, you might see different transaction amounts from locations such as restaurants, gas service stations, hotels, and car rental companies. Always refer to the credit or debit card statement from your bank for final transaction details.
 
Can I use Apple Pay within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app to purchase items inside the convenience store?
Unfortunately, this feature is not available.
 

Set-up and payment using banking accounts / ACH

What is ACH?
ACH stands for Automated Clearing House. ACH provides you with the opportunity to link your checking account as a form of payment.
 
How do I enroll my checking account for ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Select "Account," then swipe-up to "Payment method" followed by "Add a new payment method." Enter your first and last name, address, state, zip code, phone number, email address, driver's license number, checking account number, and bank account number.
 
What information do I need to provide to enroll my checking account for ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
You will need to provide your first and last name, address, state, zip code, phone number, email address, driver's license number, checking account number, and bank account number.
 
Are there any fees for utilizing a checking account with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app does not charge any fees for using ACH for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Please check if your financial institution charges a fee for using ACH as a form of payment. Please review the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ App Terms and Conditions for information regarding fees related to returns due to insufficient funds.
 
Can a joint checking account be enrolled for more than one Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app account for ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
Yes, a joint checking account can be enrolled more than once. For example, a husband and wife can each enroll their shared bank account for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app for their respective Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app accounts.
 
When using my bank account for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app, is there a hold on funds placed on my account?
Similar to writing a check, there is no hold on funds placed on your account when attempting an ACH transaction with your enrolled bank account within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. The entire amount of the transaction will be charged to your checking account when the transaction is presented to your bank for payment.
 
How do I authenticate my checking account after I have submitted my account information?
Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Select "Account," then swipe-up to "Payment method," select your ACH account, and click on the "Tap to Verify" shown under your checking account information. After clicking the link, enter the sum of the small deposits and the last four digits of the enrolled checking account.
 
After I have submitted my account information, how quickly will I receive the two small deposits needed for bank account authentication?
The small deposits could take up to 2-3 business days to be posted to your checking account.
 
How secure is linking my checking account to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app has the same security standards as any bank, so your data is kept private and secure. The initial setup process also has built-in customer authentication steps to confirm the validity of the customer and bank account.
 
Can I get cash back with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
Cash back is not available through the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app.
 
Can I enroll my savings account for ACH (Automated Clearing House) to link payment to my checking account within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
No. You may only have your personal checking account enrolled for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app.

What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?
You can add a passcode to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app as an extra layer of security.
 
How is my credit card information stored on the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
All information is stored in a secure environment.
 
Is it safe to use my cell phone at a gas pump?
Independent research shows that smartphone technology can be used safely for pump payment. This, of course, requires safe behavior to avoid distraction.

For Samsung devices, how do I pay for fuel using Samsung Pay?
First, select “Pay now” and select your pump number. After selecting “Authorize Pump,” use biometrics or enter your 4-digit passcode if your device does not support biometrics. You do not have to tap your phone to the pump to make a purchase.
 
What credit cards are supported by Samsung Pay within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app supports Visa, American Express, and MasterCard when using Samsung Pay as your payment method. Gift cards are not supported.
 
What should I do if I need help adding a credit or debit card to Samsung Pay?
Contact your bank or Samsung Pay Support who will help you resolve your issues when adding credit or debit cards to Samsung Pay.
 
Does Samsung Pay show my recent transactions?
The last 20 transactions (some cards might only show 10) made with Samsung Pay are viewable in the Samsung Pay app for one month from the time of purchase. Simply tap on a registered card in the app to see all the Samsung Pay transactions made with that card.
 
Can I use Samsung Pay within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app to purchase items inside the convenience store?
Unfortunately, this feature is not available.
 

Apple Watch and the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app

Can I use my Apple Watch with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app no longer supports Apple Watch use.
 

Exxon Mobil Rewards+ Loyalty Program

What is the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ program?
Exxon Mobil Rewards+ program is a rewards program that allows you to earn points on your items you purchase every day; fuel, convenience store purchases and car wash purchases. You will earn 3 points per gallon on fuel and 2 points for every $1 you spend in the convenience store and on car washes. You'll also get access to special bonus point offers to accelerate your point earn. For every 100 points you save, you can redeem for $1 in savings.
 
Will I still earn the same amount of points with Exxon Mobil Rewards+?
You'll earn even more points on fuel. You will earn 3 points for every gallon and 2 points for $1 spent in c-store.
 
If my Plenti points move over to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ program, when will they expire?
Unused Plenti points will be converted to Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points, which will have a 1-year expiration date if you were fully enrolled with the Plenti program prior to 7/11/2018. They will expire on December 31st, 2019.
 
Will I be able to use these points at other partners/retail locations?
Not at this time. Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points can be used at participating Exxon and Mobil locations.
 
How do I link my existing Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card to the app?
First, download the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app. To link your existing Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ card to your account, select "Sign up." After entering name and email credentials, select “I already have a physical card," and then enter your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card information.
 
What is Exxon Mobil Rewards+ Premium™ status?
Premium status is a tier within Exxon Mobil Rewards+. Once you qualify to become a Premium Status member, you will earn 2x base points—equal to 6 cents per gallon—on qualifying purchases of Synergy Supreme+ gas. Plus, we’ll surprise you with other exclusive offers and perks.
 
How do I become a Premium status member?
To achieve Exxon Mobil Rewards+ Premium™ status, simply fill up with Synergy Supreme+™ premium gas at least 3 times in a month with at least 8 gallons. Just keep filling up 3 times a month to maintain your Premium status. Miss a fill-up? No problem. You still have 3 months before your benefits expire.
 
I achieved Premium status and received an email about a special gift. What is this and why do I need to verify my mailing address?
To show our appreciation for your loyalty and for purchasing Synergy Supreme+ premium gas, we want to send you a gift. We are asking you to verify your mailing address to ensure we send it to the right location. Your Premium status gift may take up to 4 weeks to arrive.
 
I saw a black and red Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card. How can I get one and how does it work?
To receive an Exxon Mobil Rewards+ Premium™ status card, you must qualify for Premium status. Once you qualify, we’ll let you know that your gift, containing a Premium status card, is ready. Both of your loyalty cards will work and will track your purchases. If you want to use the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app or your Alt-ID (phone number) at the pump and not a plastic card, Premium status will still work as well.

For your protection, your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account has been temporarily blocked. At this time, you will not be able to use points for savings. Please contact Customer Care for more information.
 
How do I earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on my Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app purchases?
At the station, launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and select “Pay now” to begin the transaction. You will automatically earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on all fuel and car wash purchases made with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. After completing a transaction, your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points balance will be updated to reflect your most recent transaction.
 
Can I earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points through my Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app at all Exxon and Mobil stations?
After creating an Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app account, you will be able to earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on your fuel and car wash purchases at participating locations.
 
How do I use Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points for savings on my Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app purchases?
At participating Exxon and Mobil stations, you will receive a prompt in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app to use available Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points if you have at least 100 points for use on your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account.
 
How do I see the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points I earned at Exxon and Mobil stations using the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app?
The number of Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points earned on each Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app transaction should appear on your digital or printed receipt. You can also find a summary of the points earned in the “Rewards center” section of the app. Bonus points may not appear on your receipt but will be applied to your points balance.
 
How long does it take for me to see the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points I earned on my Exxon Mobil Rewards+ transactions?
Your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points balance will be updated in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app up to 48 hours after a transaction.
 
Can I link one Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card to multiple Exxon Mobil Rewards+ accounts?
Unfortunately, this feature is not available at this time.
 
Can I add multiple Exxon Mobil Rewards+ cards to one Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account?
No, you can only use one Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card with a single Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account.
