What does the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app do?
You can use the app to pay for fuel, earn rewards and redeem for dollar savings.
How do I earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ points on app purchases?
At the station, launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and select “Pay now” to begin the transaction. You will automatically earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on all fuel and car wash purchases made with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. After completing a transaction, your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points balance will be updated to reflect your most recent transaction.
Can I earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ points through the app at all Exxon™ and Mobil™ stations?
After creating an Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app account, you will be able to earn Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points on your fuel and car wash purchases at participating locations.
How do I redeem points for savings on my Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app purchases?
At participating Exxon™ and Mobil™ stations, you can select the amount of available points to redeem before authorizing the pump in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app if you have at least 100 points for use on your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ account.
How do I scan the QR code?
When you are directed to "Scan QR code," your phone's camera will open automatically in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app. Hold your phone two inches away from the pump and center the QR code (it looks like a pixilated square) on your screen. The app will scan the code once it’s in view and automatically select your pump number.
How do I select my grade of fuel?
Once you have authorized the pump in the app, you can select your grade of fuel at the pump as you normally would, and then lift the nozzle to begin fueling.
How long does it take to see the points I earned on my transactions?
Your Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ points balance will be updated in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app up to 48 hours after a transaction.
Can I purchase convenience store items through the app?
No; you cannot purchase convenience store items through the app at this time. Instead, please swipe your loyalty card or enter your ALT ID or phone number at the register, then proceed to a different payment method. Select sites will be able to scan the barcode from your app, but you will still have to use a different payment method.
Why are there convenience store offers in the app?
You will be able to see the offers on items in the convenience store for the Exxon™ or Mobil™ station you are fueling at based on your location. Your location services must be enabled for these to appear.
How do I purchase a car wash in the app?
When you are authorizing the pump to pay for fuel, you can select a car wash, if it is available at that Exxon™ or Mobil™ station. The car wash code can be found on the receipt screen or in your payment history on the Account screen. The code expiration date will also appear on the digital receipt. You can redeem this car wash code at any time before the expiration date.
Where do I find my receipt?
In "Account" under "Notifications," you can select how you’d like to receive your receipt. You can choose to receive receipts through email or at the pump. Whichever option you choose, a history of your transactions is available in the “Payment history” section.
How does the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app know my location?
ExxonMobil takes privacy very seriously, so your location will be used in accordance with our privacy policies. The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app obtains your location from your mobile phone through its geo-location feature. Please ensure this feature is turned on for the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. If your location-based services are turned on, the app will be able to identify which station you are at. If your location-based services are turned off, or there is interference, you will be directed to scan the QR code located on the pump.
What if the app doesn’t recognize my location?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app will direct you to scan the QR code on the pump and register it that way.
Can I access the app with my phone number like I can with the physical card or with Alt-ID?
No; the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app does not use your phone number to log in or redeem points.
How do I add my credit card or debit card to my Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ account?
Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Select "Account" from the lower right menu, then scroll to "Payment method," where you can add or edit a credit or debit card.
When can I use the referral code?
You can use the referral code when you are registering online for an Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ card at emrewards.com/register.
What is my reward for entering the referral code?
When you register for an Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ account online or in the app, enter the referral code during registration. Your bonus points rewards will depend on the Terms & Conditions for that specific referral code promotion.
What is the Station Survey?
The Station Survey may appear on the home screen after a transaction. This is an opportunity for you to provide feedback about your station experience. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?
You can add a passcode to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app as an extra layer of security.

What types of phones support the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app is available in the App Store for iOS 10 and above and on Google Play for phones running Android OS 6 and above. For optimal performance, we recommend using the latest OS available for your device.
Which forms of payment will the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app accept?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app accepts all major credit cards, debit cards, ExxonMobil Personal Cards, ExxonMobil™ Smart Cards, checking account and mobile wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Masterpass.
How is my credit card information stored on the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
All information is stored in a secure environment.
How secure is the app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app has the same security standards as required of banks, so your data is kept private and secure. The initial setup process also has built-in customer authentication steps to confirm the validity of the customer and payment method.
Can I use my Apple Watch with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app does not support Apple Watch use.
What is Speedpass+™ technology?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app is powered by Speedpass+ technology. Speedpass+ technology builds upon ExxonMobil’s history of innovation at the pump, including the debut of the first pay-at-the-pump service in the 1980s, the launch of radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled touchless payment in the 1990s, and the implementation of mobile payment options at pumps across its network in the 2000s. Speedpass+ is the namesake of Exxon and Mobil’s first fuel payment app and lives on as the infrastructure and communication method which supports mobile payment transactions in our Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app today, allowing users to safely and securely pay for gas, earn points and get rewarded.
Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app payment options
Why is a credit card required when buying fuel, even if I want to pay with only points?
Fuel pumps require you to provide a payment method (credit card or debit card) before activating the pump. However, you will not be charged when buying fuel if your points cover the cost of your purchase. When using your credit or debit card, you may see a preauthorization hold based on your card’s bank or payment provider that would be removed based on their standard process.
How do I add digital wallet information to my Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ account?
If you have a digital wallet set up on your compatible devices, simply download the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app and create an account. Your digital wallet information is automatically added to your account as a payment method.
How do I pay for fuel using a digital wallet in the app?
First, select “Pay now” and select your pump number. After selecting “Authorize Pump,” you'll use Touch ID or Face ID to authorize payment. You do not have to tap your phone to the pump to make a purchase.
Which credit cards are supported by digital wallets within the app?
At this time, the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app supports Visa, American Express, MasterCard and Discover when using a digital wallet as your payment method.
What should I do if I need help adding a credit or debit card to a digital wallet?
Your bank/device support centers (Apple, Google, Samsung, MasterCard) are ready to help you with any issue you may encounter when adding credit or debit cards to your device. Please contact your applicable support center for assistance.
Can I use a digital wallet within the app to make purchases in the convenience store?
Unfortunately, this feature is not available at this time.
What is ACH?
ACH (Automated Clearing House) enables you to link your checking account as a form of payment.
Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app.
Select "Account," then swipe up to "Payment method."
Select "Add a new payment method," then “Checking account.”
Enter your first and last name, address, state, ZIP code, phone number, email address, driver's license number, checking account number and routing number.
What information do I need to enroll my checking account for ACH payment in the app?
To enroll your checking account for ACH payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app, you will need to provide your first and last name, address, state, ZIP code, phone number, email address, driver's license number, checking account number and routing number.
Are there any fees for utilizing a checking account with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app does not charge any fees for using ACH for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app. Please check if your financial institution charges a fee for using ACH as a form of payment. Please review the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ App Terms and Conditions for information regarding fees related to returns due to insufficient funds.
Can a joint checking account be used as a payment method in more than one app?
Yes; a joint checking account can be enrolled more than once. For example, spouses can each enroll their shared bank account for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app for their respective Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app accounts.
When using my bank account for payment within the app, is there a bank hold on funds?
Similar to writing a check, there is no hold on funds placed on your account when attempting an ACH transaction with your enrolled bank account within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app. The entire amount of the transaction will be charged to your checking account when the transaction is presented to your bank for payment.
How do I authenticate my checking account after I have submitted my account information?
Launch the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app. Select "Account," then swipe up to "Payment method," select your ACH account, and click on "Tap to Verify" shown under your checking account information. After clicking the link, enter the sum of the small deposits and the last four digits of the enrolled checking account.
After I have submitted my checking account information, how long does it take to verify the account?
Two small deposits will be made into your bank account for authentication. This process can take up to 2-3 business days to be posted to your checking account.
How secure is linking my checking account to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app has the same security standards as any bank, so your data is kept private and secure. The initial setup process also has built-in customer authentication steps to confirm the validity of the customer and bank account.
Can I get cash back with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
Cash back is not available through the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app.
Can I enroll my savings account as a payment option within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app?
No; you may only have your personal checking account enrolled for payment within the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app.

How do I apply for an ExxonMobil consumer credit card to link to the app?
You can now apply for an ExxonMobil™ Smart Card through the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app when you’re at the pump or at home. During the application process, you will be directed to Citibank, the issuer of the card. Citibank uses one of the most secure encryption technologies available today. Once approved*, you can start paying with the ExxonMobil Smart Card in the app right away. *Based on CitiBank's credit card application approval

Help and troubleshooting
If I see an “Information matches an existing account" message or have trouble with merging accounts when logging into the app, what should I do?
If you use the same email address for your app and online Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ accounts:
Sign into your app.
You should then be prompted to merge accounts.
Enter your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website account password to merge accounts and log in. (If you do not remember your website password, you can reset it at https://exxonandmobilrewardsplus.com/welcome/forgot-password. Once reset, enter the new password in the app.)
If you currently use different email addresses for your app and online accounts:
Sign into https://exxonandmobilrewardsplus.com.
Select “My Account.”
Select “Update” next to the “Account” section and update your email address to match the email address you use for your app account login information.
Select “Change password” next to the “Password” section, and update your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website password to match your app account password.
Log into the app with your login information, which should now match your online account.
If you share your rewards account number and phone number with another app user/member:
Sign into https://exxonandmobilrewardsplus.com.
Select “My Account.”
Select “Update” next to the “Account” section and update your phone number to a phone number that is different than the one you’ve been sharing with another member.
(You will continue sharing your earned loyalty points with the shared account, but each app user must have a unique phone number and card number associated with their app account.)

If I no longer see the Facebook Login option after updating my app, how do I log in?
As we continue to streamline the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app, Version 5.0.0 and later no longer includes the Facebook Login function.
To keep your points and continue using the app, follow these steps:
Open your app and select “Sign In.”
Enter the email address you used with your Facebook login as your username.
Select “Forgot Password?” and confirm your email address.
Retrieve the temporary password sent to your email inbox.
Return to the app and select “Sign In.”
Enter the temporary password and select “Sign In.”
Create a new password for the app.

If my Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app says my rewards account is blocked, what should I do?
This means your account has been temporarily blocked for your protection. At this time, you will not be able to use points for savings. Please contact Customer Service at 800-243-9966 for assistance.
