Our gasoline is available in three octane grades, all developed on a molecular level to clean up intake valves and keep vital engine parts like fuel injectors clean for better fuel economy. Exxon and Mobil branded retail gasolines meet TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards.

What is an Octane rating? Antiknock, also known as octane rating, is the measure of a gasoline's ability to resist knock or ping during combustion.  The higher the octane rating, the greater the engine's resistance to knock or ping.  To find out if your vehicle would benefit from a higher octane gasoline, check your car’s owner's manual.

Exxon and Mobil Regular Unleaded — Octane 87. Our most popular gasoline, developed to meet the needs of most vehicles.

Exxon Plus and Mobil Special Unleaded — Octane 89.  This gasoline was developed to meet the needs of vehicles that can benefit from a higher octane. To find out if your vehicle would benefit from a higher octane gasoline, check your car’s owner’s manual.

Exxon Supreme and Mobil Super+ Unleaded — Octane 91 - 93. Formulated to meet the demands of some of today’s most advanced engines, it generally has an octane level of 93 but is blended with an octane level of 91 on the West Coast and in parts of New England.
