Product Description

AAMCO ATF+3, used as makeup or full fill, is specially formulated to ensure optimal performance in Chrysler transmissions and transaxles. Its unique additive package provides the proper frictional properties, excellent low-temperature fluidity and dependable wear protection required in applications where a Chrysler MS 7176 type fluid is recommended.

Features and Benefits

The outstanding performance features of AAMCO ATF+3 offer the following advantages in MS-7176E applications:

  • Excellent flow properties at low start-up temperatures and high operating temperatures
  • Improved shift performance and vehicle driveability/improved shudder performance in Chrysler vehicles
  • Good viscosity stability
  • Excellent oxidation stability, less fluid breakdown in high-temperature service
  • Dependable protection against rust and corrosion
  • Provides more assured wear protection for maximum transmission/transaxle life

Applications

AAMCO ATF+3 is an automatic transmission/transaxle fluid specially formulated for DaimlerChrysler Corporation vehicles, including Dodge, Plymouth, Eagle and certain Jeeps, that require a fluid meeting Chrysler specification MS-7176E® and earlier Chrysler specifications. It is also recommended for Mitsubishi and Hyundai applications where an MS-7176 type fluid is specified.

AAMCO ATF+3 is not recommended for vehicles that require Ford Mercon® or General Motors Dexron® type fluids. For these applications, AAMCO ATF D/M is recommended.

AAMCO ATF+3 can be used in other services that specify an MS-7176E type fluid, including certain manual transmissions, transfer cases and power steering units.

Note: Use of fluids that do not meet the MS-7176E specification can impair performance, causing transmission shudder, rough shifting and unsatisfactory vehicle driveability. Use of non-approved fluids also may invalidate new vehicle warranties.

Automatic transmissions should be checked for proper fluid levels at regular intervals, and the fluid should be changed at manufacturer-recommended intervals. However, this may vary due to your vehicle's operating conditions. Some manufacturers recommend more frequent changes of transmission fluid under severe driving conditions, such as heavy traffic, hot weather and trailer pulling.

Health and Safety

Care should be taken to avoid skin contact when handling automatic transmission fluids, and to prevent splashing into eyes. A protective face shield, or splash goggles, should be worn when draining transmissions, especially on the service station lift.

Healthy skin condition depends on cleanliness. Oils and greases in contact with skin can result in plugging of sweat glands and hair follicles. This may lead to skin irritation or dermatitis. Therefore, protective gloves and clothing should be worn and good personal hygiene should always be practiced. Oils, greases, and other foreign materials should be removed from the skin promptly. Soiled clothing should not remain in contact with the skin. AAMCO ATF+3 is readily removed from the skin by waterless hand cleaners followed by washing with soap and water and a soft skin brush. It can be removed from clothing by dry-cleaning or by washing with laundry detergents.

Where repeated skin contact occurs, protective skin creams such as silicone-base creams, applied to clean hands prior to contact, may be beneficial.

If petroleum products contact the eyes, flush the eyes with fresh water until the irritation subsides.

WARNING: "Empty" containers retain residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be dangerous. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose such containers to heat, flame, sparks, or other sources of ignition; they may explode and cause injury or death. Do not attempt to clean since residue is difficult to remove, and even a trace of remaining material constitutes an explosive hazard. "Empty" drums should be completely drained, properly bunged, and promptly returned to a drum reconditioner. All other containers should be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner and in accordance with governmental regulations.
