Product Description

Formulated with perfluoropolyether that has been thickened with a non-organic polytetrafluoroethylene, UNIREX PF 500 is a long-life, severe-service grease for bearings, valves, seals and other applications that require excellent film strength at high temperatures.

Features and Benefits

UNIREX PF 500 provides dependable performance over a wide temperature range of 0°F to 500°F. UNIREX PF 500 provides excellent lubricity, corrosion resistance, thermal and oxidative stability and chemical inertness.

UNIREX PF 500 is non-flammable and highly resistant to oxidative degradation at temperatures up to 500°F. The high-temperature stability provides bottom line savings from improved reliability and a reduction in grease usage and manpower through extended relubrication intervals.

UNIREX PF 500 is exceptionally resistant to attack by chemicals and contaminants, including hydrocarbon oils, alcohols, strong acids, caustics, hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and starch.

  • Superb High-Temperature Stability
  • Dependable performance over a wide temperature range
  • Exceptional Resistance to Chemicals, Caustics and Solvents

Applications

Developed for single-facer heated roll bearings in a corrugator, UNIREX PF 500 has proved to be
excellent for a wide variety of demanding high-temperature applications, including those found in the textile, steel, aluminum rolling, automotive, aerospace and forest product industries.

UNIREX PF 500 is compatible with other PFPE/PTFE greases, but should not be used with common mineral or synthetic greases.

UNIREX PF 500 is compatible with most common seal and gasket applications (Viton, Butyl, Neoprene and Buna N).

Health and Safety

Health studies have shown that many petroleum hydrocarbons pose potential human health risks that may vary from person to person. As a precaution, exposure to liquids and vapors of petroleum products should be minimized.

Oils and greases in contact with skin can result in removal of skin oils, and plugging of sweat glands and hair follicles. This may lead to skin irritation or dermatitis. Accordingly, protective gloves, clothing and equipment should be worn and good personal hygiene should always be practiced. UNIREX PF 500 should always be removed from the skin promptly. Soiled clothing should not remain in contact with the skin.

Oils and greases are readily removed from the skin by waterless hand cleaners followed by washing with soap, water, and a soft skin brush. They can be removed from clothing by dry-cleaning or by washing with laundry detergents.

If petroleum products contact the eyes, flush the eyes with fresh water until the irritation subsides.

WARNING: "Empty" containers retain residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be dangerous. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose such containers to heat, flame, sparks, or other sources of ignition; they may explode and cause injury or death. Do not attempt to clean, since residue is difficult to remove, and even a trace of remaining material constitutes an explosive hazard. "Empty" drums should be completely drained, properly bunged, and promptly returned to a drum reconditioner. All other containers should be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner and in accordance with governmental regulations.
